Flubber To Mudder

Tough Mudder is not an easy challenge event to complete. In fact it’s right there in the title TOUGH Mudder, not easy mudder, not maybe a little difficult mudder but tough. It is however something that I have been wanting to do for a few years now. So this year I thought why not let’s do it. So I asked all my mates who play 5-a-side football if they wanted to do it and one amazingly, a Mr Sean Dare said yes. So we signed up in December.

It is now January and we have decided it is probably time to start our training. The Problem is, whilst we are similar in age, me and Sean are very different people. I am a fitness instructor at UEL and know my way around the gym. Sean is a tile salesman and had never been in a gym before January 2015. In 2012 I ran and finished the London Marathon. The last marathon Sean finished was in 1990 just before they renamed them Snickers. I have spent the most part of the last 5 years playing Sunday league football, Sean has spent 5 years watching Sunday football from the sofa.

As you can see we have very different exercise histories. I am however at the moment very much unconditioned and so over the next few months we are going to write our own exercise diaries in order to show our own personal journeys from Soft Flubber to Tough Mudder.
